New navigation. The Forum is open. Artists with a community face. Version 1.10 is our biggest update yet.
New
- New way to navigate — Single-page navigation is now a tab bar. Home, Profile, Search, and the Forum share the spotlight at the bottom — each tab with its own place. The Forum is the big arrival of this version; details are right below.
- Forum — The Forum opens its doors. With the articles, it became clear this content needed a space of its own — and that you needed a place to start conversations. Here you read official AfterHouse articles, create and read topics from other people, save what you want to come back to, and search for what matters. It’s the house’s space to talk about music — with title, text, images, and threaded comments, like an article.
- The artist’s community page — Artists already on AfterHouse get a community page: discography, a photo gallery submitted by the community (the most voted becomes the artist’s main image in the app), a mural for notes and discussion, and a wiki bio with information suggested and reviewed by the community. One place to gather everything about who you love — and leave your love on the record.
Better
- Photo crop — When you change your avatar or upload a photo on the artist’s page, you adjust zoom and position before confirming.
- Lighter photos — We cut photo file size by 25%. Images load faster and take less space on the device, without losing quality.
- Faster sharing — Top 5 tracks, Top 5 albums, and sharing a review load exponentially faster.
- Search and reviews — Album search and a record’s review list still load as you scroll — and the next batch starts arriving before you hit the end.
- Home in your language — Cards and dynamic Home content now follow the communication language you chose in your profile. If you haven’t set one, the app follows the device language.
- Stretchable cover — On album detail, an article with a cover, or an AfterLive event, the image follows your gesture when you pull to refresh at the top. Pull down and watch the cover respond — refresh still works as before.
- A much lighter app on Android — The app now downloads and installs much faster: the download dropped from ~23 MB to ~6 MB (~74% smaller) and on-device size dropped from ~72 MB to ~15/30 MB (~83% smaller), with no visible change in functionality.
Available on August 21.
